About the Employer
We are a unified school district serving more than 16,150 students in grades K -12. We have thirteen elementary schools, four middle schools, two comprehensive high schools, three specialized high schools, two alternative high schools and one K-8 school. We also offer a home schooling program, adult education courses and other unique programs to fit the needs of all students. BASIC FUNCTION: Under the supervision of assigned administrator and direction of a credentialed District nurse, perform specialized physical health care services for students; travel to various school sites to perform a wide variety of health care duties and student health monitoring; prepare and maintain a variety of health records; assist teachers and other staff in the instruction, supervision and training of individual or groups of regular and special education students; maintain a healthy and safe environment for students and staff.

Promotional/Open * The promotional group as well as the general public may apply. The promotional side of the eligibility list shall take precedence when certifying eligibles. Application, Supplemental Questions, and Resume Required. Your application may be disqualified if incomplete or any fields are left blank or state "see resume" or "see attached". Any requests for reasonable accommodations must be submitted along with your application packet. Applicants will be notified of the status of their application within two weeks after submission.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & LICENSES: Any combination equivalent to: graduation from high school or equivalent, supplemented by college-level course work in nursing or related field and two years related health care experience. Possession of a valid California license as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) or Registered Nurse (RN), valid California driver’s license, and a valid First Aid/CPR certification. EXAMINATIONS: The selection process will consist of an application packet screening for qualifications and completeness. A application evaluation (weighted 10% of total) and an oral interview (weighted 90% of total) will be conducted. A passing score must be achieved on each portion of the exams. Final selection will be made from those who achieve the three highest ranking scores.
