POSITION DETAILS The Fullerton School District is seeking individuals for part-time positions to assist with training and learning activities for children experiencing special learning needs. Position may also provide basic clerical support and other types of supportive activities for instructional personnel. Some IA/SE I incumbents may be eligible for Medical Stipend 6% if primary, 2% if backup. Individuals must be available to work Monday-Friday during school hours. Hours vary but typically are 8:00am-11:30am or 11:30am-3:00pm. This career opportunity is expected to be 15 to 17.5 hours/week, with some sites requiring up to 30 hours/ week, 9.5-months/year with paid holidays, sick leave and vacation. CPR and First Aide Certificates desired. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE Education: Equivalent to graduation from high school is required. Must also show sufficiency in educational requirements by meeting one of the following requirements of the Every Student Succeeds Act of 2015 (ESSA), formerly known as the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 (NCLB): • Two years of higher education (i.e., 48 units or more); OR • Associates Degree or higher from an institution of higher learning accredited as recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation; OR • Proof that indicates you have passed the California Basic Educational Skills Test (CBEST); OR • Obtain a passing score on the Fullerton School District Preliminary Instructional Assistant Proficiency Assessment AND all Instructional Assistant candidates must take and obtain a passing score on the Fullerton School District Instructional Assistant Proficiency Assessment
For additional training and/or coursework, please view the job description., CPR Certification must be acquired following hire.
Experience: Recent paid or volunteer experience working with children or youth groups. Experience with children requiring a specialized learning environment desirable.

EXAMINATION PROCEDURES
This will be a merged promotional and open competitive recruitment. Applications will be accepted from all qualified individuals. The examination may consist of written, performance and oral examinations.

To qualify to be placed on an eligibility list, a candidate must obtain a passing score on each part of the examination. Final scores will be obtained by combining the relative weights of scores on each part of the examination. If Veteran's credit is claimed, proof of status (DD214) must be submitted to the Classified Personnel Commission Office at the same time the application form is submitted or prior to testing. The resulting eligibility list will be used up to six months to fill vacancies.

The date of the examination(s) will be announced at a later date.
