THE POSITION The Coordinator III, Career Technical Education (CTE)-Program Development & Improvement, will coordinate and provide professional development leadership and technical assistance for CTE Programs operating in local educational agencies (LEAs) across Los Angeles County. The Coordinator III will provide direct support for pathway implementation, course integration, building industry partnerships, identifying and responding to trends in the workforce, initiating/strengthening CTE student seamless transition to postsecondary opportunities; support teacher recruitment and placement, program marketing, pre-apprenticeship program registration, internships and identification of model CTE programs within the county. The Coordinator III will serve as a liaison with leaders from community organizations, business and industry, Community College districts, the California Department of Education (CDE) and other educational agencies to support articulation between middle school, high school, and post-secondary institutions to prepare students to be career and college ready. The Coordinator III plays a critical role in the CTE Team, leading, expanding, and ensuring the success of CTE programs in Los Angeles County, encompassing strategic planning, educational partner’s engagement, resource management, and legislative compliance. This position requires a high level of expertise, leadership, professional development delivery, technical assistance, k-12 CTE programs/pathways and a commitment to advancing CTE opportunities for students.

EXPERIENCE: Three or more years of comprehensive experience in educational administration, including experience as a principal, district, or county office of education administrator. District-level CTE administration is highly desirable. EDUCATION: A Master’s degree in education or a closely related field from an institution of higher learning accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation. LICENSE OR CERTIFICATE: • Possess and maintain a valid California Administrative Services Credential and • Possess and maintain a valid California Career Technical Education Teaching Credential/Vocational Education Credential or California Single Subject Teaching Credential.
