Job Summary

DEFINITION: The Assistant Director of Safety and Campus Officers, under the direction of the Superintendent or Designee, shall assist with maintaining a safe and secure environment by maintaining a high level of visibility throughout the District to protect District campuses, facilities, students, staff, and visitors.

QUALIFICATIONS: Education/Certification/Experience: Possess P.O.S.T. Basic certificate, experience with incident Command Systems, and confidential investigations. Two years successful experience in a supervisory capacity preferred. PC 830.1 PC 830.2 Licenses: First Aid and CPR certifications issued by the American Red Cross Valid California Driver’s License (insurability under District’s liability insurance) Authorization to carry a concealed weapon Desired Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree with emphasis in protective/police coursework, administration of justice or a closely related field. Other education and/or certificates applicable to the position. Experience in safety and security management in an educational setting. POST Advanced or Supervisory certificate preferred. CA SB1626 Certification Spanish bilingual skills
