Stockton Unified School District (SUSD) began providing services to students in 1852 and is located in the heart of California’s Central Valley near the banks of the San Joaquin River. SUSD is the 17th largest school district in California, whereby 38,000 PK-12th grade students come to us to experience an academic journey that leads to high school graduation and success in college, careers, and as actively-engaged community members. QUALIFICATIONS Education and Experience: Any combination of education, training and experience equivalent to: Graduation from the twelfth grade and one (1) of experiences with a law enforcement agency as a Explorer or Student Service Officer, or course in Criminal Justice work preferred. • 18 years old • No Felony convictions • Valid California Driver License

Criminal History and Background Check:
The District will conduct an extensive background check and access statewide and federal criminal history information on candidates who have accepted a conditional offer of appointment. The background check will verify personal and professional reference checks, credit and driving history. Information obtained in the course of this background check will be considered by the appointing authority in the selection process. The District shall not consider for employment any candidate who has been convicted of a felony or misdemeanor that relates to or impacts the candidate's ability to perform the job duties of this class unless it is determined that mitigating circumstances exist. For purposes of accessing criminal history information, the candidate will be fingerprinted. Any subsequent arrest notifications and dispositions may be obtained and considered for continued employment.
