Job Summary

Job Summary

Under the direction of the management staff, perform a variety of technical clerical and accounting duties in support of assigned programs and functions within the Ventura County Schools Self-Funding Authority (VCSSFA) and the California Schools Employee Benefits Organization (CSEBO); apply and explain procedures and policies of assigned programs or activities; communicate with other agencies or departments to provide or obtain a wide variety of information; prepare and maintain a variety of detailed and complex logs, files and records; inspect and verify the accuracy and completeness of a variety of VCSSFA and CSEBO reports, claims, and documents; input and process payments and accounts receivables; and maintain confidentiality of a wide variety of materials and information.

          EXPERIENCE: Two years of increasingly responsible clerical experience involving the use of computer equipment and related software WORKING CONDITIONS: ENVIRONMENT: Office environment. PHYSICAL ABILITIES: Vision (which may be corrected) to read small print, computer screens and other printed documents; hearing and speaking to communicate with others; ability to stand, stoop, reach and bend; mobility of arms to reach and dexterity of hands to grasp and manipulate small objects and operate office equipment; perform lifting, pushing and/or pulling which does not exceed 50 pounds; to function in inside environmental conditions; to work at a computer terminal for prolonged periods.

          • This position requires membership in Public Employees Retirement System (PERS). PERS requires employers to verify actual social security number, therefore, your original social security card will be necessary upon employment. • Employees who may be required to drive their personal vehicles on official business must provide a certificate of adequate liability insurance on the vehicles to be used. • A statement of “freedom from tuberculosis” is required. • FINGERPRINTING: State law requires that all employees be fingerprinted to check for or verify conviction records. All candidates with a record of convictions for offenses, other than minor traffic violations, must file a conviction record statement. A record of conviction will not automatically disqualify you from employment, but failure to list all convictions may result in disqualification or dismissal.
