Basic Function: Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, clean and maintain an assigned school facility in a clean, orderly, and secure manner May perform any combination of the essential functions shown below. This position description is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties, knowledge, or abilities associated with this classification, but is intended to accurately reflect the principal job elements. Day to Day Duties: Sweep, mop, strip, wax, and seal floors; vacuum rugs and carpets. Dust, wash, and polish furniture and woodwork. Empty and clean trash cans, Clean employee and student restrooms Wash windows, walls and stairs Move and arrange furniture and equipment in preparing multipurpose rooms or classrooms for special events or meetings. Pick up paper and other debris from school grounds, walk areas, and the areas adjacent to the school facilities; sweep concrete surfaces adjacent to the school buildings. Perform special maintenance projects as assigned. Perform emergency cleanup service resulting from breakage, vandalism, spilling, and illness. Assist in maintaining school security and fire safety as assigned; assist in maintaining fire extinguishers.
