The job of Site Administrator, Outdoor Education, is done for the purpose/s of planning, organizing and providing instructional and administrative leadership and guidance to staff, and coordinating the services provided to visiting staff and students participating in the County Office&rsquo;s residential outdoor science school program. Under the direction of the Principal, the Site Administrator implements instructional programs; serves as liaison with client schools and school districts, the County Office, county and state agencies, parents, and the public; coordinates activities and addresses issues, situations, and/or problems related to operation of the program.</p> <p><span>Located in the beautiful, expansive, and unspoiled 25,000-acre Cuyamaca Rancho State Park, SDCOE's Cuyamaca Outdoor School is San Diego County's Original 6th Grade Camp. With continuous operation since 1946, Cuyamaca Outdoor School is California's largest and longest-running 6th Grade Camp, serving more than 11,000 students each year.</span></p> <p>This position is full-time and will offer the certificated management benefits package, which includes medical, dental, vision, and life insurance coverage, and will participate in the CalSTRS state retirement system.</p>

Education:       A Master’s degree with an emphasis in education, educational administration, or related field.

Experience:     A minimum of three (3) years of experience in a school or outdoor education setting, with responsibility for coaching and evaluating teaching staff is required.

Equivalency:   A combination of education and experience equivalent to a Master’s degree with an emphasis in education, educational administration, or related field and three (3) years of increasingly responsible educational services experience in a school or outdoor school setting, with responsibility for coaching and evaluating teaching staff required.

Certificates, Licenses, Credentials:

  • Valid CA Administrative Services Credential
  • Valid CA Teaching Credential
  • Valid CA Driver’s License
  • Valid CPR/First Aid Certification

  • Letter of Introduction
  • Two (2) recent Letters of Recommendation, dated within the last year
  • Copy of Valid CA Administrative Services Credential issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing

  • Copy of transcripts verifying Master's degree (or higher) with an emphasis in education, educational administration, or related field
