OPENING DETAILS: - Monday-Friday, 6.5 hours per day (.8125 FTE) - Work hours: TBD LOCATION: Muir Middle School SALARY RANGE: 55 (Employees new to the District will begin at Step 1. Exceptions based on relevant experience pending approval.) Under general supervision of an assigned supervisor, facilitates communication between hearing and deaf and hard of hearing students, district staff and the public by providing manual and/or oral interpreting services and providing other assistance to the instructional program in the classroom.

Requirements / Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Graduation with a Bachelor’s Degree or an Associate Arts Degree from an Interpreter Training Program or a degree from an accredited college or university with a concentration in education of the deaf and hard of hearing or educational interpreting. Experience in education interpreting preferred. Other equivalent combinations of directly related training and experience of acceptable level and quality may be considered. Verification of a score of 4.0 or higher on the Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) or Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) Certification or National Interpreter Certification (NIC) is required. **Please include all experience related to the position as well as your required documents, this includes current employees.
