
Classroom Instructional Aide (Temporary for 2023-2024 school year) at Rosemead Elementary

Job Summary
The Rosemead School District is hiring a temporary paraprofessional to work under the supervision of the classroom teacher and to work directly with students to implement differentiated instructional strategies and intervention programs that are intended to increase student learning. Targeted Assistance Groups (TAG) small group differentiation will be provided during the school day. The TAG paraprofessional will provide academic support to identified students by tutoring small groups, large groups, and one-on-one settings, utilizing evidence-based programs and strategies; provide supplemental academic assistance to students as directed; through universal screening data, assist in assessing, and providing small group support in reading, math, or another content area as needed. *An important goal is for the classroom teacher to be able to work with the neediest students while the TAG paraprofessional works with students who are on grade level or slightly below.

High school diploma or equivalency is required. In order to comply with the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 (Public Law 107-110), all paraprofessionals hired after January 8, 2002, must meet one of the following additional requirements: 1) completion of at least two years of study at an accredited college or university (48 semester units): or 2) obtained an associate's (or higher) degree; or 3) met a rigorous standard of quality and demonstrated, through a formal state or local assessment, knowledge of and ability to assist in instructing either (a) reading, writing, and mathematics, or (b) reading readiness, writing readiness, and mathematics readiness, as appropriate.
