Multiple Subject Credential Required **Ed Code 48000(g) requires teachers who are first assigned to a TK classroom after 7/1/2015 to have one of the following by 8/1/2023: -- 24 Units in early childhood education, childhood development, or both -- Professional experience in a classroom setting with preschool-age children comparable to the 24 units of education above -- A child development teacher permit issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) Note, any teacher who is or was assigned to teach TK, or a combination of kindergarten and TK, on or before July 1, 2015, is "grandfathered in" to teach TK without having to meet the additional unit requirement for TK teachers set forth in Education Code section 48000(g). *Up to fourteen years of prior public school service may be considered for initial placement on the salary schedule. An additional yearly bonus of $2,182 for up to two (2) advanced degrees as well as a yearly bonus of $2,182 for National Board Certification.
