A new partnership for the 2022-2023 school year between the Sacramento County Office of Education (SCOE) and the Sacramento County Department of Health Services (DHS) is breaking ground on an innovative way to augment the outstanding work our school districts do to address children and youth mental health – placing a mental health clinician in every school in the county to work within a continuum of care at the school site, transforming the schools into “Centers of Wellness”. The clinicians will provide direct mental health services, while also working with school staff to integrate Social Emotional and relationship building strategies into the entire school community, transforming the schools into Centers of Wellness for all young people. NOTE: In compliance with federal requirements, this position requires proof of full vaccination as a condition of employment, unless a medical or religious exemption is approved by SCOE. If a vaccine exemption is granted, weekly testing will be required. There is no option for testing in lieu of vaccination without an approved vaccine exemption. A 5% differential will be provided to candidates who are bilingual in the following languages: Spanish, Hmong, Farsi, Arabic, or Russian. Proof of certification will be required in the form of university transcripts documenting bilingual/biliterate and/or examination documenting bilingual/biliterate proficiency.
