Job Summary

The Los Angeles County Office of Education is seeking proactive individuals with strong interpersonal skills and supervisory experience in facilities maintenance and operations. Under administrative direction this position plans, directs, coordinates, and manages facilities support activities of the Los Angeles County Office of Education, including operations, maintenance, and inspection of all facilities operated by the office.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Experience: Seven years of experience managing the maintenance, repair, and operations of multiple building or plant facilities, including two years of experience in a management capacity with supervisory responsibility. Equivalency Provision: An associate's degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, or other fields closely related to the job requirements of this classification from an institution of higher learning recognized by the Council of Higher Education Accreditation may substitute for one year of the required non-supervisory experience. A bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, or other fields closely related to the job requirements of this classification from an institution of higher learning recognized by the Council of Higher Education Accreditation may substitute for two years of the required non-supervisory experience. Foreign degrees and credit units require translation and equivalency established by an agency recognized by the Commission on Teacher Credentialing. Additional Requirements: A valid California driver's license, proof of insurance, and the availability of private transportation or the ability to obtain transportation between job sites is required. A bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, or other fields closely related to the job requirements of this classification is preferred.
