Rosemont High School serves students in the east area of the Sacramento City Unified School District, providing students with a rigorous, relevant academic program, robust co-curricular opportunities, and a safe, welcoming learning environment. Our mission is to prepare students for meeting the demands of college and career, ensuring that graduates are critical thinkers, problem solvers, and responsible citizens who embrace and promote inclusion, collaboration, and community engagement. Rosemont offers three academic pathways: RHS Culinary, ECD (Engineering, Construction and Design) and LEAD (Leadership Through Academic Development.) The Principal of Rosemont High School should be able to: -Support and expand a school-wide focus on implementing research-based instructional strategies to address disparities in student performance -Plan, develop, organize, and conduct staff development and staff training consistent with the goals of the site and the District. -Promote parent and community engagement -Foster a positive, inclusive, safe school climate -Implement MTSS to better address needs of students in the areas of chronic absenteeism, college/career preparedness, suspension, English Language Arts (ELA), and Mathematics. -Sustain and expand Career and Technical Education (CTE) pathways and programs -Implement attendance and engagement strategies to reduce chronic absenteeism

Requirements / Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS Credential: Possession of a valid standard supervision credential, with authorization to serve as a school principal, or a credential of equivalent authorization issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing is required. A standard administration credential, or its equivalent, warrants priority consideration. AND Education: A bachelor's degree from an approved institution is required. Advanced degrees are preferred. AND Experience: A minimum of five years of certificated experience in public or private schools is required and preference will be given for experience at a comparable segment level for which appointment is considered. An additional two years of experience as a vice principal, department chairperson, counselor, student activities advisor, or in another administrative or supervisory capacity in a school system, is also required.
