New West Charter is an award-winning 6-12th grade independent charter school in Los Angeles, California. Our school attracts a diverse student population from all over the area, focuses on academics, and builds confidence through the arts and athletics. We are looking to add an enthusiastic school counselor to New West’s middle school faculty to serve students in grades 6-8. The ideal candidate would be a highly qualified and experienced counselor who is knowledgeable of ASCA National Standards, IEPs, and is passionate about supporting students at the middle school level. Middle school counselors have an impact on these years by implementing a school counseling program and collaborating with school staff, parents and the community to create a safe, respectful learning environment whereby young adolescents can maximize personal and academic achievement. Our school values the individuality of each student. Counselors are expected to support, foster strong character development, and build resilience for our students to be and stay successful.
