Job Summary
The Substitute Teacher is responsible for providing specialized academic services directly to the students enrolled at Beacon Day School Special Education program, as well as collaborating with their parents and the IEP team regarding the implementation of the Individual Education Plan. The employee will deliver effective academic instruction in line with Beacon Day School approved academic curriculum, state standards and student IEPs. The Substitute Teacher will support CEO as well as collaborate with administrative staff under the direction of the CEO, serve as a professional resources and model behavior to classroom staff. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Develops lesson plans and instructional material according to BDS academic curriculum requirements and procedures - Implements and maintains treatment/intervention plans - Collaborates with school personnel and parents on educational/behavioral services plan - Participates in transporting students during community-based instruction - Collaborates with school and district medical personnel on medical care protocols if necessary - Supervise classroom staff; make sure data is being collected and programs are being implemented daily - Provides mentoring and coaching to classroom staff - Promotes a positive and welcoming atmosphere to encourage collaboration - Maintains a safe psychological and physical classroom environment - Continues professional development by attending training required by BDS - Performs other duties and responsibilities - When needed, perform all the duties and responsibilities of a Behavior Interventionist within the classroom regarding the assigned student you may be working with - Help support Beacon Day School’s yearly events - Be familiar with all students within the classroom, knowing the details of the Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP) and Academic goals - Attend weekly meetings with your supervisor (Program Specialist)

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four (4) year college/university is required
- Hold a emergency teacher credential
Preferred:
- Moderate-severe credentials or has Autism Authorization
- Pursuing intern eligibility
