The Vice Principal assists the Principal in planning, coordinating, and directing the educational program and services of the school. All certificated and classified personnel engaged in the activities assigned to the Vice Principal serve under his/her direct supervision. He/She discharges the responsibilities of Acting Principal in the absence of the Principal. He/She works closely with the Principal, Counselors, and those in charge of school departments and staff services on matters in which his/her assigned activities are involved.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Assists the Principal in planning and conducting administrative and instructional activities concerned with the operations of the school.
2. Assists with the planning and execution of programs for counseling and guidance, attendance and welfare, and student discipline.
3. Directs and coordinates such student body co-curricular activities as social affairs, student government, athletic programs, school publications, music and drama productions, assembly programs and school clubs as may be assigned.
4. Assists in the preparation of the school calendar of events and activities.
5. Assists in the preparation of annual budgetary estimates.
6. Communicates and interprets policies, programs, and activities of the school to the staff and community and participates in the programs and activities of the Parent Association, youth agencies and community groups.
7. Performs such special duties as may be assigned by the Principal.
8. Serves as assistant disaster coordinator.
9. Participates with the Principal in the implementation of contracts between employee organizations and the Board of Education.
10. Assists in the preparation of the master schedule and assignment of teachers.
11. Assists in the evaluation of certificated and classified employees as assigned by the Principal.

Required Qualifications
1. Masters Degree in School Administration desirable.
2. Valid California Administrative Credential.
3. Five years successful teaching experience.
4. Vice-Principal experience desirable.
5. Knowledge of categorical programs.
6. Valid California Drivers License.
7. TB Clearance.

The District shall provide an annual contribution for Medical, Dental, Vision and Life Insurance. If the selected health and welfare coverage costs less than the district's maximum contribution, the employee may select to cash-out the difference in cost. Family Plan = $7,210 annually Single OR Employee +1 = $6,458.00 annually The Fringe Benefit amount is NOT included in the annual salary indicated on the certificated salary schedule.
