Education: •Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade. •Valid Associate Teacher Permit with 12 units in ECE/CD, including core classes or, Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential. Experience: •Experience working with preschool children. Attach any documents that you feel will help demonstrate that you meet the minimum qualifications listed above (i.e. resume, transcript, diploma). Documents you wish to attach should be uploaded via EDJOIN by the filing deadline in order to be considered in the hiring process (pertains to current employees also). A scanner to upload required documents is available in the Human Resources office located at 1330 Truxtun Ave., Bakersfield, CA 93301. • The documents will be scanned and emailed to the candidate. It is the candidate’s responsibility to attach all documents to the EDJOIN application by the filing deadline. Required Documents:

  • Credential Copy (Child Development Associate Credential)
  •      OR Other (Valid Associate Teacher Permit & transcript with 12 units in ECE/CD, including core classes)

      IMPORTANT COMMENTS: • Current employees: Please email Tammy Garcia at tagarcia@kern.org with any questions regarding the required documents. • After the filing deadline, all candidates will be notified by email if they do or do not qualify to take the written exam. • Candidates must achieve 70% on the written examination to qualify for an oral interview. Examinations will be weighted 30% for written and 70% for oral. Candidates must obtain a composite score of 70% or better to qualify for the eligibility list. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: A pre-placement medical assessment/health screening, at office expense, is a condition of appointment after all other required job conditions have been met. This position is required to lift 50 pounds. Some positions may require proof of privately owned automobile insurance and possess a valid California Motor Vehicle operator’s license. Fingerprint clearance by both the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the California Department of Justice is a condition of appointment after all other required job conditions have been met. Must present verification of completion of Child Abuse Mandated Reporter training or obtain verification within six (6) weeks of hire and annually thereafter, as required by the California Child Abuse Neglect Reporting Act.
