Benefits

Prepaid life insurance policy provided for the employee. Employees working less than full time are required to pay a portion of their insurance premiums, if they elect coverage. Employees of this office are not covered by Social Security, but do have mandatory retirement coverage with California Public Employees Retirement System.

•Education: Education equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade, supplemented by training or coursework in child growth and development, advanced first aid, and special education instructional technology dealing with the severely disabled. •Experience: Two years of paid or volunteer experience working with severely disabled children. Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) preferred. Attach any documents that you feel will help demonstrate that you meet the minimum qualifications listed above (i.e. resume, transcript, diploma). Documents you wish to attach should be uploaded via EDJOIN by the filing deadline in order to be considered in the hiring process (pertains to current employees also). A scanner to upload required documents is available in the Human Resources office located at 1330 Truxtun Ave., Bakersfield, CA 93301. •The documents will be scanned and emailed to the candidate. Examinations will be weighted 30% for written and 70% for oral. Candidates must obtain a composite score of 70% or better to qualify for the eligibility list. Some positions may require proof of privately owned automobile insurance and the possession of a valid California Motor Vehicle operator’s license. Fingerprint clearance by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the California Department of Justice is a condition of appointment after all other required job conditions have been met. Must present verification of completion of Child Abuse Mandated Reporter training or obtain verification within six (6) weeks of hire and annually thereafter, as required by the California Child Abuse Neglect Reporting Act.
