TEMPLETON UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT JOB DESCRIPTION CLASS TITLE: NOON DUTY AIDE (All Positions) =================================================================== DEFINITION: Under supervision of the principal, supervises school children in the cafeteria, on the playground, and in other areas of the school grounds. REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES: • Maintains order in the lunch room. E • Enforces school safety rules. E • Reports persistent and/or serious behavioral problems to the school principal. E • Encourages and promotes courtesy among children in the cafeteria and on the playground. E • Administers first aid in routine accidents and makes reports as appropriate. E • Responsible to assist custodians in setting up and taking down lunch room tables. • Cleans table tops, benches and floors in cafeteria. E • Picks up trash periodically and directs students to do same. QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge of: • Practices and procedures pertaining to school lunch room and recreational activities. Ability to: • Direct children in playground activities. • Promote courtesy and safety in the lunch room and on the playground. • Relate to children in a courteous manner. • Communicate in writing for the purposes of composing the required reports and other correspondence. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: • Education equivalent to 12th grade completion. • Experience in working with children or youth groups is desirable. LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS: • First Aid/CPR Certification Job Description - Noon Duty Aide (Continued) PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to: • Stand in one area for extended periods of time. • Stand and walk for extended periods of time. • Ascend and descend steps. • See for the purpose of reading student work, laws and codes, rules and policies and other related matter, and observing students at distances of up to 50 yards. • Hear and understand speech at normal levels. • Communicate so others will clearly understand normal conversation. • Communicate using the telephone. • Bend, twist, kneel and/or or stoop. • Reach in all directions. • Think clearly and rationally to solve problems. • Lift 25 pounds.
