Job Summary
The Assistive Technology Teacher Specialist Position collaborates with teachers, specialists, and other staff throughout the state of California and on-campus at CSB to promote individual skill building and use of assistive technology to promote access to differentiated curricula in the various programs on campus. Works directly with students and teachers to provide instruction and to help create and plan lessons that integrate technology and build student expectations in using technology and advancing their skills, including assessing student skills and developing appropriate technology goals. Partners with the other Teacher Specialists and the Teaching Assistant in the Technology Lab to develop and implement best practices in technology instruction for students with visual impairments. Involved in other needs and opportunities as detailed in this duty statement and to support the continued and evolving learning of students and growth of the program. In collaboration with technology team, prepare and teach targeted lessons to small groups and individual students. Prepares course offerings and targeted technology lessons to meet the unique current needs of students and teachers on campus at CSB and in counties and districts throughout the state. In addition to other duties as assigned this position will collaborate to: • Develop a road map of progress for students to achieve individual milestones in using technology across the curriculum. • Write lesson plans, curricula, how-to guides, and develop other products to support the acquisition of technology skills as well as the implementation of technology teaching and best practices by members of educational teams. • Teach short-term elective courses and workshops to CSB students to meet unique educational needs and to provide additional educational opportunities beyond typical technology classes. • Develop and teach short courses and on-campus and community wide events such as technology trainings, day camps,

Required Qualifications - Applicant must possess a valid credential in either or both: - California Education Specialist’s Credential in Visual Impairment - California Clinical Rehabilitative Services Credential in O&M - A positive mindset and flexible approach to work and teaching - Proactive self-starter with the ability to multitask, establish and rearrange priorities, and maintain focus on both short-term and long-term goals. - Proficient computer skills in utilizing various word processors, spreadsheets, and online resources. - Savvy internet skills in researching and discovering deliverables and resources. Desired Qualifications - Experience teaching blind and low vision students including students with additional disabilities. - Experience managing groups of students. - Excellent interpersonal skills, written communication skills, and oral communication skills. - Ability to work collaboratively within the Assistive Technology team and Education Resource Center as well as with a wide range of stakeholders. - Experience and/or familiarity with academic testing of student.

Recruitment & Retention per month: $ 700
Total Salary per month: $7,133 - $9,585
Annual Salary: $85,596 - $115,020
A job offer will be made contingent upon a final budget being approved by the State Legislature and the Governor that allows for full funding of this position. Current or future executive orders relative to filling vacant positions may also affect this process.
