1 - Vaccination Requirement for Candidates Seeking Employment The Sweetwater Union High School District has adopted a vaccination mandate that requires all candidates for District employment to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19, including variants, prior to being employed by SUHSD, subject to limited exceptions. The District adopted this vaccination mandate as a condition for employment for all employees as an emergency public health response to mitigate the negative public health consequences to our school communities associated with increased incidence, test positivity rates and the prevalence of virus variants, including increased exposures, absences, hospitalizations, intensive care unit admissions, and deaths. As such, candidates seeking District employment will be required to: (1) be fully vaccinated (two weeks after completion of the entire recommended COVID-19 vaccination series) and (2) submit a copy of their COVID-19 vaccination card prior to their start date, unless a reasonable accommodation request from the District for a medical or religious exemption has been previously approved. 2 - Applicants must have an authorization to teach English Language Learners in order to be considered for the position.
All required documents, including a copy of your credential demonstrating eligibility for the pool, must be scanned, and attached to your Ed-Join application prior to applying to the eligibility pool. PDF format is recommended. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
