**Before applying, please be sure you are active on the county-wide substitute list.** If you are unsure of your status, please email credentials@kern.org to determine your eligibility as a substitute teacher. Education and Credentials: • Must possess a valid California teaching credential or valid substitute permit. • Must be active on the county-wide substitute list. Salary Information: • Substitute hourly rate of pay is $21.43/hour for the first 20 days and $42.86/hour as of the 21st day. Fingerprint clearance by both the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the California Department of Justice is a condition of appointment after all other required job conditions have been met.
In addition to submitting the certificated application, qualified candidates should upload:
- Credential Copy (Copy of credential or substitute permit)
