Job Summary

Job Summary

This position requires subject matter expertise in speech and language development as well as the ability to implement techniques and strategies for hearing service programs for students age 0 to 5 years and students in Kindergarten through 12th grade. The LSH Specialist must be able to conduct screenings, present data and information at IEP meetings and work collaboratively with parents and staff members. The Speech and Language Specialist provides a comprehensive language, speech, and hearing service program involving diagnosis, direct therapy, and consultation. As a member of a multi-disciplinary team, the Speech and Language Specialist works collaboratively to determine eligibility for special education and mode and intensity of services. In addition, the Speech and Language Specialist works with teachers and paraprofessionals to ensure that students receive appropriate services as determined by the IEP Team.

          $15,000 stipend to be paid, in $5,000 increments, at the end of the successful completion of the each of the first three years if fully credentialed or Tuition Reimbursement Program available for qualified interns. Full-time position with employee medical and dental benefits available (includes spouse and dependent coverage). Employer contribution $17,300 (prorated based on start date.) Master's Degree $1,200; Doctorate Degree $2,400 Longevity: 2.5% increments at years 6, 8, 11, 16, 20 & 26 The San Benito County Office of Education provides an in-house induction program.
