POSITION DESCRIPTION: The position of Permit Teacher – Early Head Start is under general supervision and plans and participates in the care, instruction, and supervision of children in a Head Start Infant/Toddler program; assists in the day-to-day operation of the center; and performs other job-related duties as required, i.e., parent involvement. Please see job description for a list of job functions and minimum qualifications. The following document must be attached to your Ed-Join application prior to the position closing at date/time: •Two (2) Letters of Reference/Recommendation (Must be dated within the last 2 years) •Letter of Introduction (Must specifically reference the position for which you have applied) •Current Resume •Valid California Children’s Center/Child Development Permit authorizing instruction in a Child Development Center Program and Infant/Toddler. (Refer to Commission on Teacher Credentialing pamphlet for Child Development Teacher Permit •Copy of transcripts from a regionally accredited college/university showing completion of six semester units in an Infant/Toddler Course EXPERIENCE: Completion of 175 days of experience in an instructional capacity in a child care and development program; working at least three hours per day within the last four years is required and must be verified. (This experience may include paid and/or volunteer work.) EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university is required. A Bachelor degree in Early Childhood Education or closely related field is preferred. These documents are required upon hire: Valid CA Driver's License, physical (if required), proof of required education, TB, Fingerprint clearance, and proof of COVID-19 vaccination may be required as per Public Health Order. RCOE will engage in an interactive process for new hires with valid medical or religious exemption requests as related to the COVID-19 vaccination.

***MUST HAVE SIX SEMESTER UNITS IN AN INFANT/TODDLER COURSE. (INFANT TODDLER COURSES MUST BE HIGHLIGHTED ON TRANSCRIPTS IN ORDER TO BE CONSIDERED).*** CERTIFICATES/CREDENTIALS/LICENSES: Possession of a valid California Children’s Center/Child Development Permit authorizing instruction in a Child Development Center Program and Infant/Toddler. (Refer to Commission on Teacher Credentialing pamphlet for Child Development Teacher Permit.) You must provide copies of credentials as required for the position with your application materials.
