Under the supervision of the Principal, assists a certificated teacher in reinforcing instruction to individual or small groups of students in an assigned classroom; assists in the preparation of instructional materials and implementation of lesson plans; provides routine clerical support and perform related work as required.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Any combination equivalent to: graduation from high school and some experience working with children in an educational or organizedsetting.Incumbents are encouraged to participate in courses, seminars and workshops in the area of instructional services, psychology or guidance.

IUSD has multiple openings at schools throughout the district to support both General Education and Special Education classrooms as well as substitute positions. Our opportunities cover all age groups including Preschool, Elementary, Secondary and Adult Transition Schools. Positions are available that support both a remote (virtual) classroom environment as well as in-person assignments. Permanent positions typically require availability Monday through Friday with a start time that coincides with the school's opening time. Starting Hourly Pay: - For Instructional Assistants supporting General Education and our Preschool Classrooms: $15.661 per hour - For Instructional Assistant supporting Special Education Classrooms: $17.286 per hour Job Descriptions: The job description for the Instructional Assistant - General Education is attached to this posting.
