Education/Experience: A.A. degree or equivalent required; Three years of broad and varied clerical experience; Keyboard at a minimum rate of 50 words per minute from ordinary transcript or printed material; Satisfactory work history; Successful experience demonstrating tact, courtesy, positive attitude and maintaining cooperative relationships with those contacted during the course of work; Completion of current first aid and CPR courses; and Spanish desirable. RESPONSIBILITIES: Under general supervision, to perform a wide variety of highly complex clerical duties with considerable latitude for independent judgment, prepare data processing source documents for transmission to the student information system; and to do related work as required. Specific duties include being able to: • works with school staff preparing input documents • works with and prepares information for the department to ensure that all records in the Student Information System are accurate and current • work with the public answering questions involving an understanding of policies, procedures, and regulations; • act as receptionist, making appointments, arranging group meetings, and transmitting confidential or controversial information; compile reports from a wide variety of sources, and transmits to other offices or agencies; • schedules appointment for manager and staff • composes routine correspondence and forms independently or from brief notes or oral instructions using Microsoft Word or Works, excel and other spreadsheet/database software; • sets up and maintains files and records; • other duties as assigned
