      Comments and Other Information

MIDDLE SCHOOL Position (7-8): While MPUSD and it’s schools will return to traditional, in-person, five days a week school beginning August 4, 2021, we will be offering instruction via the MPUSD Digital Academy. At MPUSD, we understand that families may not be comfortable sending their student(s) back to traditional, in-person instruction. In an effort to provide exceptional learning experiences to meet students and families where they are, the Monterey Peninsula Unified School District is pleased to offer Digital Academy, a subset of our Independent Study program, in the 2021-2022 school year. In this program we will be serving students grades 7-8 in an online only format. Teachers will be expected to teach multiple subject areas, in possible combination classes, and provide ELD and reading intervention support. Teachers must feel confident in providing high quality and personalized instruction in multiple subject areas, engaging activities for building community and supporting social and emotional learning needs for students. This role demands strong online instructional skills, flexibility and an uncompromising focus on a personalized, student centered learning. Please note, teachers will be expected to report to campus each day to provide instruction and will not be teaching from home. If you are currently an MPUSD teacher, please reach out to Kenya Hobson in our HR Department at 645-1288 for further information.
