Job Summary

Grossmont Secondary School (GSS), affiliated with Altus Schools, is an educational model in which students in grades 7-12 engage in blended learning instruction while working towards individualized course completion via a Pathways Personalized Education Plan (PPEP). The GSS Educator is competent, energetic, and student-centered with exceptional classroom management and organizational skills. This position requires a dedicated individual who understands adolescents, is able to motivate students, sets high expectations, exemplifies equitable and inclusive practices, employs a data-driven approach, embraces accountability, and is a team player.

          We are on a mission to transform the lives of students! Grossmont Secondary School (GSS) is a free public school option, serving students in grades 7-12 who seek an alternative learning experience to the traditional school setting. The instructional design is based on a "University Model". Students work independently and attend labs, or tutorials 1-2 times/wk. Students come at scheduled times; no more than 20 students on site at a time. The learning environment, located in resource centers, laptops, desktop computers, wireless networks, and high-speed T-1 Internet access in each resource center. SELECTION PROCEDURE: Selected applicants will be interviewed by a panel of School Administrators and will complete work-styles/behavior survey and math quiz. Candidates who successfully complete this phase of process will be interviewed by the Executive Director and Founder, President, and Chief Executive Officer.
