Bard High School Early College (BHSEC) Baltimore, a partnership between Bard College and the Baltimore City Public Schools in Baltimore, Maryland, invites applications for an adjunct faculty position in Chinese Language and Literature, from August 2020-January 2021. Field of specialization is open.
The Bard early colleges enable talented and highly motivated students to complete a high school diploma and an Associate of Arts degree from Bard College within four years of study. The academic program emphasizes small classes and a commitment to teaching a diverse student body.
The position will involve teaching 1-2 sections of college-level Chinese, either language courses or literature/culture courses taught in translation. An M.A. in Chinese or related field and dedication to teaching are required. Candidates who will have a Ph.D. at the time of employment, or who are ABD, are preferred. Teaching responsibilities will be scheduled five days per week.
