Valid CA Single Subject/Secondary, Multiple Subject/Elementary, Special Education Credentials or Substitute Teaching Permit or PPS credential (with CBEST). Candidates with bachelor degree and CBEST may apply through the employer for a Substitute Teaching Permit. Candidates without the CBEST must pass the District Proficiency Exam to be eligible to apply through the employer only for a one-year CBEST Waiver Permit. All applications must be submitted online via Edjoin. Applications are reviewed by Human Resources and eligible candidates are invited to attend a future orientation. Invitations are sent via email along with a list of "What to Bring to the Orientation". Information about fingerprint requirements and fingerprint fees for employment and/or credentialing purposes are provided at the orientation and appointments are scheduled at the end of the orientation for a future date. Candidates may instead apply directly to the Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) for an Emergency 30-Day Substitute Teaching Permit at www.ctc.ca.gov , when applicable. CBEST waiver applicants must apply directly through the school-district employer only. Out-of State credential holders may apply directly to the CTC for their CA credential. If you apply directly to the CTC for your credential/permit, please save all copies of your CTC application packet, including proof of payment. Applicants who do not hold a valid CA credential, may apply for the Emergency 30-Day Substitute Teaching Permit provided a bachelors degree is held and all portions of the California Basic Education Skills Test (CBEST) have been passed.

The District administration reserves the right to screen applicants based on a review of applications, resumes, and recommendations, to use job related testing as part the interview process, and does not guarantee a personal interview to all applicants.
