Committed to Collaborative Decision-Making:
There is an expressed desire to have someone who knows the importance of creating and maintaining collaborative, respectful relationships and building on the strengths of the current district staff.
Strong Interpersonal Skills:
The Superintendent needs to demonstrate honesty, integrity, and compassion. An ability to establish trust and affirming the existing positive relationships among employee groups is vital. Strong listening skills are essential.
Possess Strong Communication Skills:
The Superintendent is expected to represent the district in a constructive and positive manner at district and community meetings. Communication with the Board is expected to be clear, comprehensive and timely.
Develop a Knowledge and Understanding of the Community:
The Superintendent needs to be visible in the schools and community and be able to create positive working relationships with the community and be recognized as the foremost advocate for the needs of the students.
Have a Strong Vision for Student Success:
The ability to present a compelling vision for student learning and achievement is important. The person should promote skills for the future which enable students to be successful in a rapidly changing global society.
TIMELINE
Applications will be screened the week of March 1, 2019.
Interviews will be conducted in the subsequent weeks. Following the interview, the Board of Trustees may choose to make on-site visitations prior to a final offer of
employment.
The start date for the new Superintendent is July 1, 2019.
