MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalent; job related experience in a specialized field is required. Two years of increasingly responsible experience in vehicle maintenance and repair of vehicles including heavy gasoline and diesel-powered equipment and some parts and inventory experience using data entry has been found to be a minimum requirement for successful job performance. Relevant experience, education, certificates and/or licenses may be substituted. LICENSES AND CERTIFICATES: Preferred ASE or A-Plus Certification in brakes, electrical/electronic systems, engine performance power train, suspension and steering. Within 5 months of employment: First Aid Certificate, Medical Examiner's Certificate (for Commercial Driver Medical Certification), Commercial Driver's License - Class B with Passenger/Student Endorsements, California Special Driver's Certificate.

SELECTION PROCESS: The selection process will include screening to ensure application is complete and applicant meets minimum qualifications. A written examination is scheduled for January 31, 2019 for all qualified applicants. A passing score of 70% is required to be invited to the oral/performance exam tentatively scheduled for the week of February 4, 2019. Both examinations require a 70% passing score. An eligibility list will be established and the top three ranks of candidates from the list will receive a departmental interview.
