POSITION DESCRIPTION: The job of Applications Designer is done for the purpose(s) of assessing operations; ensuring availability of required technology, analyzing customer needs, and developing systems using rapid application development techniques. This position serves as a team leader and mentor in the software development class. Experience in programming in one or more modern high-level structured or object-oriented language is required. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: Job related experience is required. A minimum of five years of full-time journeyman level experience in 3GL and 4GL programming, systems analysis and design, and implementation of programs utilizing database management techniques. Experience should reflect utilization of skills, knowledge, and ability requirements described above. REQUIRED EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree from a college/university with emphasis in Management Information Systems (MIS) or Computer Science (CS).
