Community Action Partnership of Madera County (CAPMC) is a public non-profit 501(c)(3) organization. Since it was incorporated in 1965, CAPMC has been making a positive difference in our county. CAPMC is committed to improving the social well-being and economic capacity of low to moderate-income individuals and families, as well as providing opportunities to achieve economic independence. Madera County’s anti-poverty agency, CAPMC serves the low and moderate income residents annually through its broad spectrum of programs and resources. With over 50 years of service and with many anti-poverty programs, CAPMC is a key contributor to the vitality of Madera County. The program is center-based program with full-day and part-day options. The program services begins in August through May of each year. Madera Migrant/Seasonal Head Start serves children 6 weeks old to 5 years old that live in Madera County. The Migrant program has two seasons, traditional and winter. The traditional program runs from May to end of October and the winter program runs from early-November to February. Hours of service are between 8 to 10 hours per day. Early Head Start is a home-based program created to teach parents how to become their child’s first teacher. The program serves 0 – 3 years old including pregnant mothers. The Family Facilitator visits the home once a week for an hour and a half. Socialization is held twice a month where parents bring their children to interact and participate in activities provided by Family Facilitators. Early Head Start is an all year round program."
