WRITTEN TEST::

Tuesday, February 3, 2015, at 9:00 SHARP, Education Center, Board Room, 4850 Pedley Road, Jurupa Valley, CA 92509. The testing will take approximately one and one-half (1 1/2)hours to complete. Please be prepared to remian in the testing room for the enitre test period. This is the only notice of the testing. ALL CANDIDATES MUST SHOW UP FOR THE WRITTEN TESTS.

Jurupa Unified School District COMPUTER SUPPORT ASSISTANT DEFINITION Under general direction, provides support for district end-users related to personal computer (PC) systems, networks, and related hardware and software used throughout the District; performs a variety of related record keeping tasks; and performs related work as required. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS · Provides new and existing users with information and assistance related to software, hardware and network issues over the telephone. · Troubleshoots, tests, and evaluates networks, personal computers, and other electronic peripherals. · Creates and/or maintains database(s) by performing data entry, research, problem assessment and resolution, on-line user training and other related functions. · Creates and/or maintains reports, logs, calendars, and other records and documents as required. · Receives, assigns, and logs work order requests and monitors progress under the direction of the Administrator. · Operates standard office equipment. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS License: Possession of a valid, appropriate California Driver’s License. Education: Graduation from high school or equivalent. DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS Knowledge of: High degree of computer literacy. Modern office equipment, practices, and record keeping methods. Strong knowledge of computer networks. Microsoft Office Suite of applications and operating systems. Hardware and software troubleshooting techniques and tools. Operation and maintenance of computers. Ability to: Advise and guide end-users relating to use of hardware, software and related tasks. Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships. Prioritize, set schedules, and meet timelines for assigned service requests. Document and communicate problems to staff and others as required. Communicate effectively. Work on more than one task at a time; COMPUTER SUPPORT ASSISTANT(continued) DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS (continued) Ability to (continued) Concentrate on current task in spite of distractions in an active, busy environment; Understand and carry out oral and written instructions. Sit for sustained periods of time. Lift and move light to medium-weight objects such as boxes of books, office supplies, or presentation materials. Efficiently and effectively operate office machines, including a computer with keyboard and monitor, for sustained periods of time. Demonstrate manual dexterity necessary to operate calculator, typewriter, and/or computer keyboard at the required speed and accuracy. Maintain regular, steady attendance. Experience and Education: Two years of responsible experience in end-user support or troubleshooting of microcomputers, or any combination of education and experience that demonstrates an ability to perform the duties of the position.
