Job Summary Downtown Value Schools is actively seeking a compassionate, innovative, and qualified Resource Specialist Program (RSP) Teacher to support students with special needs across multiple subjects, with a focus on creating inclusive and effective learning experiences. Our ideal candidate is someone who possesses a strong foundation in special education, differentiated instruction, and the ability to collaborate with general education teachers to support students' diverse learning needs. This individual should be committed to fostering a nurturing environment that respects cultural diversity and aims to bring out the best in all students. Responsibilities: Design and implement individualized educational plans (IEPs) tailored to meet the specific needs of students with disabilities, ensuring compliance with all state and federal regulations. Provide instruction in various settings, including pull-out, push-in, and co-teaching environments, to support students' academic and social-emotional development. Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to accommodate students' varying needs, abilities, and interests while maintaining the integrity of academic standards. Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and support staff to modify and differentiate instruction that allows students to access the general education curriculum effectively. Foster an inclusive classroom environment that respects diversity and encourages students to participate fully in their education. Monitor and assess student progress regularly, adjusting strategies and supports as needed to promote ongoing achievement. Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and other stakeholders regarding student progress, challenges, and strategies to support their children's growth and development.
