Nursing Instructor - Reports to Director of Nursing and Site Director Contact: Heather Peterson hpeterson@guhsd.net Provides students with opportunities to acquire the knowledge and practice the skills identified in course objectives using varied and appropriate teaching methods. Plan learning activities to meet program outcomes based on the standards set by policies, legal and other regulatory requirements, and acceptable practices. Participates in the program evaluation and continuous improvement process and engages in personal professional development.

Completion of an accredited professional nursing education program Five years or more of related job experience as it applies to the medical industry CA designated subject CE credential in health and medical technology or the ability to achieve that credential. Hold a current California active unencumbered license as a registered nurse Previous teaching experience preferred not mandatory Excellent written and oral communication and analytical skills Functional abilities to carry out classroom, clinical and laboratory teaching responsibilities Competence in clinical skills in areas of teaching Competent in personal computer applications: word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and email. Current American Heart Association CPR training.
