THE POSITION: The Coordinator II is a member of the Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) Unit, supervised by the PBIS Project Director III, in the Division of Student Support Services. The LACOE PBIS Unit and the Coordinator II are committed to enhancing diversity, equity, and inclusion across all educational settings. The Coordinator II is responsible for facilitating and managing Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) programs and services. This position performs duties designed to support schools, districts, and charters in implementing the PBIS framework; providing technical assistance; designing, implementing, and identifying professional development opportunities; modifying curriculum and instruction to meet the needs of all student learners; and providing coaching and mentoring on the implementation of effective school practices that address positive school climate and culture for all students. The Coordinator II shall ensure cultural responsiveness within a SWPBIS framework and use SWPBIS principles to change school cultures and systems to enhance educational equity. The Coordinator II shall provide technical, specialized, consultative, advisory, and planning services in the Division of Student Support Services; plan, organize, develop, recommend, and evaluate programs, processes, and procedures; serve as a resource to school districts and the PBIS Unit in the assigned area of specialization; conduct special studies and in-services; monitor legislation and provide interpretation and guidance; and perform related duties as assigned.
Requirements / Qualifications
EXPERIENCE: Two (2) years of leadership experience as an administrator, coordinator, school psychologist, school counselor, or team leader coordinating PBIS at a site, district or county office; designing and implementing PBIS framework and strategies; identifying innovative, promising, and best practices for creating successful behavioral, social emotional programs within a multi-tiered system of supports. Emphasis on implementing Tier II and Tier III levels of support is desired. EDUCATION: Possess a baccalaureate degree in education or a closely related field from an institution of higher learning accredited by one of the six regional accreditation associations as recognized by the Council on Postsecondary Accreditation. A Master of Arts or Sciences degree is desirable. LICENSE OR CERTIFICATE (must attach credential with document number): • Possess a valid California Administrative Services Credential or Certificate of Eligibility. • Possess a valid California credential authorizing service to students in K-12 in one of the following areas: teaching, school counseling, and/or school psychology.

COVID-19 Vaccination Requirement for All Los Angeles County Office of Education Employees
Under Superintendent Policy 4060, COVID-19 Vaccination, the Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE) requires that all LACOE employees, including substitute employees, temporary office workers, hourly/part-time employees, contractors, interns, and volunteers are fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
